Hi, from the PNW in USA; havent done any snowboarding or skiing, but i ride snowmobiles and look to start snowboarding this next season. Ironically, there isn't any hypothesis on why the snow is like that there already posted. But that valley is next to a large body of water, which reflects light. So at the right angle or season, light hits that valley more than others. Maybe even twice as much? I don't know thermodynamics is above my pay grade.

It's crazy that snowboarding has progressed so much that "steep and deep" is not really one category anymore. Different riders prioritize steep and deep separately and it's cool how this movie highlights this, great watch

He is a wonderful person and after the tour, he invited me to join for dinner at one of his favourite restaurant. Next time 'm back in MinamiUonuma I will be buying a split board from him.
